Mission
The HSE Manager Affiliates is responsible for the development and the realization of the cross Luminus Affiliates Group HSE ambition and strategy aiming for industry best in class safety standards and certification. Drive a Luminus affiliates group-wide safety culture where people and management are convinced that the only way to work well is to work healthy, safe and in a qualitative way.
Key Challenges
- Develop and facilitate a cross-affiliate health and safety vision strategy & performance cycle for Luminus affiliates group for the coming 5 years (Global Prevention Plan), jointly with the affiliates, aiming for industry best in class standards for specific (hazardous) activities
- Provide active support to each affiliate (prevention advisor and management) with the translation of the above group vision / strategy into the 5 year HSE plan, including highlights / focus area’s where the gap in regard to the desired state and / or the risks are the highest
- Provide active support to each affiliate (safety advisor and management) with translating the abovementioned 5 year plan into the yearly action plans, including yearly themes across affiliates in relation to specific focus area’s
- Perfomance management: support the affiliates and coordinate the process of quarterly HSE performance reviews, incl. progress of key actions and lagging and leading performance indicators
- Prepare the quarterly Affiliate Safety Committee (ASC) with management and prevention advisors, prepare the agenda with the Director HSE (chair). Including the safety performance reports per affiliates on leading and lagging indicators, the results of the safety inspections of high risk works, recent incidents+learnings and the progress on the actions in the year action plans
- Lead and facilitate the development and deployment of Luminus Group standards in relation to Affiliate specific (high risk) tasks, and chair the related working groups; e.g.: working at height, working on electrical installations, working with hazardous substances, low-threshold incident reporting, working with subcontractors, etc. Report progress to the ASC.
- Plan, perform and/or organise safety inspections on site together with the local safety advisor and report to management of the affiliate and Luminus group on deviations from the law and or Luminus group standards
- Evaluate HSE regulatory trends in relation to Affiliate’s activities, and determine operational, financial or other business impacts and implement industry best practices
- Compliance management: support HSE audits and ensure regulatory compliance and compliance with Luminus Group HSE Policies/ Standards
- Set strategic direction and define and deploy programs and initiatives aimed at cultivating a positive HSE Culture
- Facilitate and coordinate selected continuous improvement HSE Programs and ensure Company business and compliance goals are achieved
- Develop and guide implementation of policies, standards and guidelines that support Luminus Group HSE philosophies and business needs
- Lead and coach HSE staff of the Affiliates so to maximize organisational impact and collaborative interactions
- Create, implement and monitor HSE training programs as per needs
- Work effectively with cross-functional teams in order to meet business objectives
- Perform HSE due diligence in specific business transactions, such as mergers & acquisitions, so to protect the company from past, current or future liabilities
- Provide support to newly aquired affiliates for working towards full compliance with the group standards
Requirements
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written (English, French and Dutch), and interpersonal skills and ability to challenge constructively
- Strong influencing and change management skills
- Effective team working and networking skills and the ability to work with a high level of autonomy
- The ability to plan, prioritise and organise own workload
- Able to work in a multi-site/multi discipline environment
Knowledge & experience
- Vocational degree in safety management: preferably prevention advisor level 1 or equivalent thru professional track record
- Diplomate / builder of bridges / positive influencing skills
- Perfectly bi-lingual (French/Dutch), fluency in English is a strong plus
- Leader and coach rather than a controller / Hands on mentality
- 10 years of experience in HSE management (or comparable) in an industrial environment, Experience in the installation business will be regarded as a plus
- Familiar with HSE management systems (ISO 14001, IS0 45001, ISO 50001)
- Hands on knowledge of HSE risk management
