In your role of HSE Manager Projects, you play a key role in the Luminus Group HSE Team, to help deliver its mission of developing and deploying best in class functional support to the business towards the realization of its HSE goals and ambitions.


Mission

  1. Safety Culture improvement programs
    In this role, you define the strategic direction, and you develop and deploy programs and initiatives in alignment with the new Safety-II thinking, aimed at further progressing a positive HSE Culture across Luminus
  2. Improvement and Innovation projects
    You identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation projects and you develop and deploy HSE tools and processes accordingly, incl. creating a collaborative platform hosting various HSE apps in support of key HSE processes. Furthermore, you set up and oversee the workings of ad-hoc task forces
  3. Learning organization
    You drive Luminus’ effort to increase organizational capability to perform robust RCA incident investigations; you define standardized process and methodology, set up and manage training program, and monitor quality and timeliness of RCA investigations
  4. HSE support to new-build construction projects
    You provide HSEe support to new technology projects and new-build construction projects, e.g. battery energy storage systems, hydrogen projects, wind construction projects (on-shore / off-shore), …, You provide subject matter specialist advice and guidance towards due diligence activities, permitting activities, …

Key challenges

  • Develop and deploy initiatives for Safety-II thinking to enhance the HSE culture company-wide.
  • Implement a Safety Cultural Maturity program, including organizing and coordinating diagnostic workshops for cultural maturity across the organization.
  • Identify and pursue continuous improvement and innovation in HSE, developing tools and processes accordingly.
  • Roll out new HSE tools and establish a collaborative platform featuring HSE apps that meet all key process and functionality requirements.
  • Set up and manage ad-hoc HSE task forces to ensure timely delivery of objectives.
  • Build organizational capability for conducting robust Root Cause Analysis (RCA) incident investigations.
  • Standardize the process and methodology for RCA investigations, deploy company-wide, and establish a training program for RCA specialists.
  • Monitor the quality and timeliness of RCA investigations to ensure effectiveness.
  • Provide HSE support throughout the design, construction, and commissioning phases of new technology and construction projects, including but not limited to wind, hydrogen, and battery energy storage systems.
  • Offer specialist advice and guidance for due diligence and permitting activities, ensuring protection from liabilities in business transactions like mergers & acquisitions.
  • Guide and support the management of safety at large corporate events and perform internal audits.
  • Serve as a backup to other HSE colleagues in the Group HSE team, ensuring comprehensive HSE coverage and support within the organization.

Job requirements

  • Vocational degree in safety management: preferably prevention advisor level 1 or 2, or equivalent thru professional track record
  • Prior experience with safety culture programs and Safety-II thinking
  • Min 10 years of experience in HSE management role
  • Knowledge of environmental and energy management aspects is a plus
  • Prior experience with managing HSE projects
  • Proven ability to exert positive influence and to being a positive change agent
  • Team player and ability to network
  • Self-driven and ability to work with a high level of autonomy
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written (English, French and Dutch), strong interpersonal skills and ability to challenge constructively
